Obituary

James "Jimmy" Edgar Stinson, 75, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Jimmy was born in Macon County to the late Earl and Elva Waldroop Stinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Trent Stinson, and brothers, Earl Stinson Jr and Tommy Stinson. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for CW Matthews and Harrison Construction. He was a member of Maidens Chapel Methodist Church. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and just being outdoors. He loved his family most of all.

He is survived by his daughter, Christy Cabe (Doug) of Otto; sister, Susie McConnell (Dee) of Franklin; brother, Tim Stinson (Natalie) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Cates, Kayla Cabe Higdon (Tanner), Lydia Cabe; great grandson, Gavin Cates, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 18, at 2pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, one hour prior to the service. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Keith Ashe will officiate.
