James Lewis Houston, 71, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Ray and Mary "Ruby" Woods Houston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Roy Houston, and Larry Ray Houston; two sisters, Martha Lorraine Houston, and Linda Marie Houston; and four grandchildren, Angel Grace Houston, Elyzzabeth Cheyenne Wilson, Mack Lee Wilson, and Kathryn Louise Wilson. Jimmy loved working with his hands. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working.
Jimmy is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Houston Wallace (Bobby) of Franklin, NC; two sons, Larry Isaac Houston of Franklin, NC, and James Howard Ray Houston (Danielle) of Cache, OK; three brothers, Richard Houston (Rose) of Sylva, NC, Edwin Houston (Dorothy) of Clayton, GA, and Herman "Dink" Houston (Barbara) of Breeman, GA; and two sisters, Irene Longley of Jacksonville, FL, and Barbara Brown of Ackworth, GA. He also has nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews surviving.
The family will have a drop by Celebration of Life at Mr. Houston's home located at 52 Harper Lane Apt. 1103, Franklin, NC, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
