James Henry Burnette passed away on June 3, 2026, at Life Care Center in Hendersonville, NC at the age of 92. He was born in Macon County on May 7, 1934.

He worked for Champion Paper Company for many years. He retired from Henderson County DOT in Hendersonville, NC. He loved the outdoors and farming. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people.

He was proceeded in death by this parents James Wade Burnette and Nora Estelle Houston Burnette; his brothers CT Burnette, Dennis Hal Burnette and sister -n-law Juanita Burnette.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jametta Burnett Walker (Allen) of Fletcher, NC and Charlisa Burnett Robinson (Eileen Smock) of Virginia Beach, VA and a sister Judy Burnette Rogers of Franklin, NC.

He has 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and. 7 great great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 2 PM on August 1, 2026, at Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC, in the Chapel. Burial will at Oak Grove Cemetery.
