Imogene Allen Davis, 82, of Franklin, NC, died August 5, 2024, at Angel Medical Center. She died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Imogene was born April 15, 1942, to the late Commadore and Eva Winchester Allen of Bryson City, NC. She grew up on Sawmill Creek with six sisters: Eileen, Ivy, Juanita, Josephine, Kaye, Faye, and one brother Nolan.
Imogene married Troy William Davis in 1957. They were blessed with five children - named with spouses: Patsy Davis Cody & husband, Bill, of Blowing Rock, Troy Davis Jr & wife Debbie, Richard Davis & wife Rebecca, Michael Davis & wife Bonnie, all of Franklin, Robert Davis & wife Patsy of Bryson City, 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Imogene enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and young children. She was an avid reader and was fond of watching old black & white movies. She enjoyed cooking and received special requests for her southern cooking. But it was dinners with her large family, teaching her granddaughters to cook, and playing with her grandchildren that brought her the most joy.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband Troy Davis and grandson, Hunter.
Imogene's children would like to offer a special thank you to our dear brother Richard & his wife, Rebecca. In mom's last years, Richard & Rebecca gave her much love, care, and support. We love you so much for that! We would also like to thank granddaughter Brandy Childers & husband Eric for their daily care. Lastly, we would like to thank CarePartners Hospice for giving her a peaceful end.
A private service will be held for family and friends. Rev. Eugene Moore will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
