Hope Smith Crisp, 83, of Franklin NC, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Hope was born in Nantahala, NC, to the late Mint and Hallie Cook Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Crisp, and son, Jimmy Crisp. She was a devoted housewife who enjoyed spending her time taking care of her husband and grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her fishpond and flower gardens, as well as fishing at Lake Emory. She loved to decorate, and her home was always ready for the holidays. She spent much of her time in the kitchen preparing meals for her family and enjoyed making her daily visits to the local stores in town.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Gene Crisp; daughter, Joy Pendergrass (Jeff); daughter in law, Misty Jenkins; grandchildren, Shannon Shuler (Austin), Tyler Pendergrass (Tiffney), Conner Crisp; great grandchildren, Kevin, Kathryne, Stetson, Elliot, Lana, and Waylon. All family members reside in Franklin.
Hope spent her last years residing at The Franklin House with the love of her life, Gene. She spent her time entertaining the staff members as they took such great care of her.
A celebration of life will be held at 3pm Thursday, May 15th, at Cowee Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Smith officiating.
