Harlan Paul Magers, 44, of Franklin, passed away on November 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 16, 1981, in Murphy, NC, he was the beloved son of Michael Magers and Melanie Stern. Harlan had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hiking and camping, and found joy in playing video games, writing, and making music with his guitar. Known for his kind, caring, and good-hearted nature, he never missed an opportunity to help others.
Harlan dedicated his career to serving children and adolescents at the Methodist Home for Children and spent many years with Macon Citizens Habilities, working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He loved his clients dearly and considered them family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, June Weeks; paternal grandfather, Rick Magers and wife Dottie Magers; and paternal grandmother, Lisa Witherow.
In addition to his parents, Harlan is survived by his significant other, Ashley Sanders; brothers, Brenton Magers and Dylan Magers; maternal grandfather, Philip Weeks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harlan's sense of humor was cherished by all who knew him. He loved telling jokes and bringing laughter to those around him, a gift that will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and those wishing to pay their respects one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Lester Evans will officiate.
