Grover B. Sheffield, Jr., 78, of Franklin, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Grover B. Sheffield, Sr. and Hassie Mae Clark Sheffield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carol Sheffield. Grover retired from the NCDOT where he worked for over 37 years as a Supervisor. He was an active member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and clogging.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Sherrill Sheffield; two sons, Terry Sheffield and Eddie Sheffield and wife Carol all of Franklin; three grandchildren, Blake Sheffield, Lauren Harrell and husband Evan and Kelsey Sheffield; great granddaughter, Elin Harrell; four brothers, James Clark Sheffield of Webster, Wayne Sheffield of Greensboro, GA, Larry Sheffield and Kim Sheffield both of Franklin; two sisters, Glenda Peek and Peggy Reece both of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Miller, Rev. Clark Sheffield and Rev. Wayne Sheffield will officiate. Burial will be in the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 9, at Macon Funeral Home.
Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
