SFC Gregory Edward Windsor, SFC, USA, Ret. age 74, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at this residence while he was surrounded by his loving family.
Gregory was born in Germany to the late Herbert McClaren Windsor and Marjorie Lee Powell Windsor. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam era and was currently fighting the effects of agent orange exposure. Gregory retired following 21 years of service to his country, and he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Gregory was talented in many ways, especially when it came to working with his hands. He could put together anything- whether it be in his workshop or in the kitchen. He also found great joy in gardening and cooking out for his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Windsor and Gary Windsor; and sister, Linda Windsor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Holbrook Windsor; two sons, Burton Windsor (Ashland Willoughby) of Watkinsville and Russell Windsor (Tabby) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Bailey Windsor, who was his devoted caretaker, Mason Windsor, and Austyn Windsor; one great grandson, Blake Clark; one brother and two sisters, Allen Windsor (Linda) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Virginia Lohman of Arnold, Missouri, and Sherry Windsor of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his fur babies, Bandit, Bella, and Ginger.
A celebration of life service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 3, 2024 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Military honors will be rendered by VFW Post #7399 and American Legion Post #108.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his granddaughter Bailey who uprooted her life to move to Franklin and to care for her grandfather. They would also like to thank Four Seasons Hospice for their care given to Gregory during his illness.
