Greer McLean Morgan, 45, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Greer was born in Macon, GA to Tryvonne McLean Morgan and the late William "Bill" Morgan. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Morgan, and his paternal and maternal grandparents. He was a former student athlete and graduate of UNC Wilmington, where he was a member of the first conference championship track team in school history. He was a onetime volunteer coach for the shot put, and discus for Franklin High School. Greer was an avid Georgia fan, "Go Dawgs"! He was an excellent cook, being a known "foodie", he enjoyed all things food related. He was a friend to many, he loved to make everyone laugh, and he never judged anyone. He was friends of others when they didn't have any. "To know him was to love him."
He is survived by his mother, Tryvonne Morgan of Franklin; daughter, Paiton Ray of Brasstown, NC; grandchildren, Marley and Louella; brother, Andy (Colleen) Morgan of Fletcher; sister, Kelli Randall and Josh Randall; nieces and nephews, Hank and Pennley Morgan; Deyton, Greylyn, and Locklyn Randall.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 8th, from 2-5pm at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts.
