Obituary

Gordon Peter Kroeger passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon was born May 20, 1956, in Clinton, Iowa to John and Arlene Kroeger. The family relocated to Hialeah, Florida in the early 1960s where Gordon's love of fishing and bowling began at a young age. It was at the bowling alley that Gordon met Nancy, his wife of nearly 45 years. They were married November 3, 1979, and daughter Rebecca and son Jason followed. Gordon was first and foremost a family man. His greatest joy in life was his family. He taught his children to be good people first, to give when you can, and to follow through with your word. Gordon dedicated much of his free time to mentoring young people through Jason's Cub and Boy Scout troops, and later as a Venture Crew advisor. Gordon spent the entirety of his professional career in the fishing and outdoors industry. He excelled at connecting with customers and developed lasting relationships throughout the South Florida region. Gordon retired in January 2023 and moved to Franklin, North Carolina. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, often singing random song lyrics to his family, playing golf, fishing, sharing 'dad' jokes, and traveling the country with Nancy.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Rebecca (husband Brian) and son Jason (wife Tanya); grandchildren Hunter and Alexis; brother Steven; sisters Ellen, Therese, and Beth; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws Charles and Milly Honeycutt; brother-in-law Vince.

The family encourages you to donate to your favorite charity or organization, spend time with loved ones, take a trip, go fishing, or play a round of golf in Gordon's honor.
