Gloria Harrill Simmons, 71, of Franklin, NC, passed away March 1, 2023.

Gloria was born in Rutherford County, NC, to the late William Harrill Sr. and Elizabeth Hopper Harrill. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Harrill Jr. She was of the Episcopal faith and taught Special Education for three decades. She loved to write poetry and cook for her family. She loved Yorkies and always had one by her side. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Jason Simmons (Erika), Ryan Simmons (Jeremy); three grandchildren, Jennifer Simmons, E.J. Peacock, and Dempsey Peacock.

A celebration of life will be held on March 10, 2023, at 4 pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm, one hour prior to the service.
