Glenda Reeves, age 78, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, while she was surrounded by her children, and under the exceptional care of Clay County Care Center in Hayesville.

Glenda was born in Brevard to the late Alley Rowland Peek and Martha Marie Keener Peek Smith. She spent the majority of her life in Western North Carolina and was a member of Prentiss Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Peek.

She was a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her three children. Sometimes having multiple jobs at one time, she made sure her family was provided for before her own needs.

Glenda will be remembered for the love, kindness, and dedication she shared with the staff and students of Franklin High School where she spent 22 years as a custodian. Her kind smile will also be remembered by the countless customers she encountered at the Franklin K-Mart. She was a "sweet firecracker" who never missed an opportunity to serve or to love someone else.

She found enjoyment in her dogs, in her garden, and with a paint brush in her hand. Glenda's greatest joy was found in her family- especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Kevin Reeves, Karlene Cabe (Marty), and Kim James; eight grandchildren, Kyle Ledford (Sheena), Kody Ledford, Jesse James, Jason James, Autumn Woodall, April Woodall (Bryan), Kristen Cabe, Jeremy Cabe (Kristin), and Ashley Woodall; and ten great grandchildren, Parker Cabe, Brennan Cabe, Payton Manos, Madison Spates, Aulora Manos, Desmond Abercrombie, Brighton Ledford, Tyler Kelley, Erin Boyd, and Alden Moore.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moffitt and Reverend Charles Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cabe, Kyle Ledford, Kody Ledford, Jesse James, Justin Willis, and Don Willis.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
