Gina Sanders, age 41, passed away Thursday, May 22 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Gina was born in Washington, DC and spent most of her life in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Toni Sanders; grandparents, John and Virgie Sanders; grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Hinton; and her canine companion, Ali.

She was a creative and talented spirit. Gina could create beauty from nothing- whether it be a beautiful poem, graffiti, or a photographed landscape.

She is survived by her five children, Tanden Sanders, Davin Sanders, Journey Sanders, Jasmine Sanders, Elijah Stanley; father, Roger Sanders (Sue Bradley); and sister, Selina Sanders. She is also survived by the lights of her life- grandson, Sorin Taro Sanders; her grandchild on the way; and her new puppy Mazie.

The family will hold a private celebration of life service to honor Gina's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Women's Cancer Center at Mission Health.
