Geraldine "Toekie" Morgan, 80, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beulah DeHart Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jessie Alexander, Linda Mason, and Maxine "Bill" Bates; nephew, Larry "Gomer" Cook; and a niece, Karen Mason. Toekie always had a quick smile for everyone she met. She loved baking, cleaning the house, listening to music, and watching TV, especially soap operas. Toekie never had children of her own, but she loved them all and would light up when she would see them.
She is survived by her sister, Louise Cook of Franklin, NC; and six nieces and nephews, John Alexander (Marina), Tom Alexander (Coleen), Lisa Decker (Mike), Greg Bates (Jamie), Scott Mason (Amy), and Sandy Cunningham (Randy). Also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 2pm on Saturday, October 28, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Eddie Stillwell will officiate. The burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Zachary Decker, Jeremy Decker, Tyler Higdon, Taylor Shirley, Kayleb Bates, and Josh Mason.
