Frank Gerald Hannah, 79, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Frank and Wilma Welch Hannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Williamson Hannah; daughter, Theresa Ann Hannah; brother, Ricky Hannah; nephew, Tony McCall; and niece, Kristi Harper. Gerald was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, and working with his roses in the yard. He took so much pride in having an immaculate yard and home.
Gerald is survived by two daughters, Janet Henson of Franklin, NC, and Melissa Bennett of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Nancy McCall and husband, Curt of Franklin, NC, and Barbara Ireton of Yadkinsville, NC; and one sister-in-law, Linda Hannah of Franklin, NC. He also has five grandchildren, Crystal Hayes, Rodney "Robbie" Watts, Jason "Corey" Watts, David Bennett, and Natasha Bennett; three nieces, Pamela Hicks, Penny Wilson, and Kelli Hughes; nine great grandchildren; and numerous cousins surviving.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, February 3, at Macon Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral, following the visitation. The burial will be in the St. John's Episcopal Church cemetery, where Gerald spent numerous hours maintaining the grounds. Rev. Phillip Cochran and Rev. Frank Rodriguez will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Elders, Ryan Elders, Barrett Beale, Doug Welch, Justin Everett, and Willard Dills.
