George Herbert Reed, 73, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late William Lester Reed and Pearl Frady Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Eldon, Sheridan and Lester Reed, Jr. George enjoyed watching sports especially the Tarheels and Braves, he was a member of the Northside Assembly of God and was a self-employed painter.
He is survived by three sisters, Helen Henson and husband Ed of Franklin, Norma Hooper and husband Mack of Atlanta, GA and Gloria Yonce and husband Eddie of Franklin; brother, Charles Reed and wife Janice of Franklin; sister-in-law, Teen Reed of Highlands and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Reed will officiate.
