Geneva Reynolds Castle Carpenter, age 94, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Geneva was born in Macon County where she lived all of her life. Never having met a stranger, she made countless friends throughout the years she worked at the Otto Recycling Center. She had an infectious smile that brought a twinkle to her eye.
She found great enjoyment in quilting, gardening, and crocheting, but her greatest joy in life was spoiling her grandchildren and being their "MaMaw."
Geneva loved the Lord and was often seen reading her well-worn Bible.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, R.L. Castle and Charlie Carpenter; parents, Harley Reynolds and Ora Curtis Reynolds; son, Glenn Castle; brother and sisters, R.L. Reynolds, Janice Dowdle, and infant, Virginia Mae Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her gardening buddy and son in law, Larry Crone; and her best friend and sister in law, Bertie Long.
Geneva is survived by her three children, Shirley Crone of Otto, Renay Knapp (Robert) of Horse Shoe, and Ronnie Castle (Phyllis) of Otto; and several special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christy Franklin Jones of Otto, Michelle Hagdorn (Jerry) of Chesapeke, Virginia, Brandon Crone (Sabrina) of Franklin, Richard Knapp (Taylor) Knapp of Bryan, Texas, Jacob Knapp (Shayna) of Hendersonville, Leigh and Mia Castle of Otto; great grandchildren, Nicole Franklin, Alex Hamilton, Jamie Hamilton, Caryn Beckwith, Leelyn Crone, and Clara Crone; and great-great grandchildren, Mackenzi Franklin and Jamie Franklin.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20, 2025 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Reverend Brandon Crone and Reverend Keith Ashe officiating. Interment will follow in Howard Bradley Cemetery in Otto. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Richard Knapp, Jacob Knapp, Jerry Hagdorn, JC Anderson, Tom Tippett, Randy Wood, Joe Scarfone, and Jerry Reynolds.
