Fidencio Hernandez of Franklin, NC, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, after a lengthy decline due to Alzheimer's Disease. He spent his final days at Grandview Manor and Angel Medical Center.
Fidencio was born in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. He attended Jefferson high School and earned an Associate's Degree from Hillsborough Community College. He was a professional musician, who played trumpet and percussion in many groups, both in Tampa and in Western North Carolina. He was a singer as well, performing with small groups and in large ensembles. He was a barber by trade and owned Frank's Barber Shop in Franklin. He also worked as a vocational specialist in the Pinellas County (Florida) school system for several years.
Fidencio was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fidencio and Juana Garcia; his father, Gaspar Hernandez; his mother Elena Rebon; his stepfather Francisco Rebon; his brother, Gaspar Hernandez; his stepsister, Esperanza Ramos, and two wives, Irene Comellas of Tampa and Margaret Kimsey of Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Dr Kathy Zoss of Franklin; two children, Anita Forgey (Marc) and Jose Gonzalez (Melissa), both of Tampa; stepdaughter, Lesley Wilson of Franklin; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Clayton Davis, M.D. and his staff for their excellent and compassionate care. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Grandview Manor, the staff of Four Seasons Hospice, and the staff at Angel Medical Center, for their kindness, support, and attentive care.

A memorial service will be held at the family home in Franklin on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 4pm.
