Obituary

John Everette Noland, Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on July 16, 1941, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, John lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family.

Known to most as Everette, his early years were spent in Athens, Georgia, where he graduated from Athens High School. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and later earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Everette's commitment to the practice of law led him to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he dedicated 50 years of his career to helping others navigate the complexities of the legal system. His time in Raleigh was made more vibrant by 40 years of being an active member of the Community United Church of Christ on Dixie Trail.

Everette is survived by his wife, Ann Womeldorf Noland, and their three children – Christina (Noland) Eberle, Julia Noland, and Daniel Noland. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Megan Hegg, Mike Eberle, Margaret Levin, and Kara Noland, who will remember him with fondness and admiration.

A memorial service to honor John's life will be held in May 2025 in Franklin, NC. Family and friends are invited to make donations to their charitable cause of choice in tribute to a remarkable man whose legacy will continue to impact future generations.
