Evelyn Geraldine Smith, 91, of Swain County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born on August 19, 1934, to the late Clint and Leona Shuler, Evelyn lived a life full of love, faith, and kindness that touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Smith, and her cherished son, Roger Dale Brown. Also preceding her in death were her siblings Bud Shuler, Chuck Shuler, and Mary Ann Green.

Evelyn is survived by her loving siblings: Joe Benny Shuler, Doris Turner, and Sue Ford; and by her dear brothers-in-law Roy Green and Jim Turner. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly: Mike Shuler, Chris Shuler, Greg Shuler, Stephanie Shuler, Beth Morris, Heath Shuler, Misty Shuler, Benjie Shuler, and Kristy Childers. Evelyn had a special bond with her great-niece Kennedi Morris, whom she adored deeply.

A woman of great faith, Evelyn was a devoted member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering kindness were reflections of her strong Christian beliefs. She lived her life with grace and generosity, always thinking of others before herself.

Evelyn had many passions. She was an avid doll collector, found peace and joy in gardening, and shared a love of NASCAR with her son. These interests brought her comfort and connection, creating cherished memories for those around her.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Louisa Methodist Church. All who knew and loved Evelyn are welcome to attend and celebrate her beautiful life.

She lived a life well-lived and will be deeply missed.
