Obituary
Ethel Annie Roper Ammons, 92, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Patton Roper and the late Carrie Tallent Roper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Roby Roper, Harvey Roper, Ruby Reeves, Allene Higdon, Lillie Higdon Bryant, Marie Dayton, and Louise Williamson. She was a member of the Cartoogechaye Baptist Church and the Nequassa Eastern Star in Franklin. Ethel loved tending to her flowers and taking care of everyone.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, James Ralph "JR" Ammons of Franklin; two daughters, Tava Mason and husband Bruce of Franklin, and Sandra Ammons of Franklin; three grandchildren, Seth Mason, Marissa Gray (Phillip) and Cody Stanley (Tiffany); and three great grandchildren, Auberon Gray, Gwen Gray, and Ethan Gray. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
