Elmer "Al" Olee Edgar, 80, of Franklin, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Al was born in Covington County, AL to the late William and Mary Helms Edgar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gerald, Junior, J.C., Catherine, Willie, Ray, and Jack Edgar. He loved doing handyman work, gardening, and cooking. He attended Oakdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margie Younce Edgar; sister, Mattie DeKostas; nephews, Gary Edgar, Grady Sanders; step-sons, Granville Younce (Suzanne), Rick Younce (Shonda), of Franklin, Tony Younce (Julie) of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren, Anna Sears, Ryan Younce, Emma Younce, Rachel Ledford, Josh Younce, Renae Younce, and one great granddaughter, Oaklyn Younce.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7th from 11am-12pm at Macon Funeral Home, with a celebration of life following the visitation. Rev. Gary McCoy will officiate.
