Rev. Ellis Harold Phillips, 86, of Bryson City, NC, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025.

He was born in Macon County to the late King and Allie Sanders Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Phillips; brother, Barnard Phillips; sisters, Susie Bradley, Margie Curtis, Fannie Sanders, and Mattie Norris. He was the former pastor of Murphy Church of God, Robbinsville Church of God, and Cherokee Church of God.

He is survived by his sons, Randal Phillips (Zelda) of Burnsville, NC, Gary Phillips (Denise) of Hartselle, AL; sister Ruby Hodgins; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 16th from 12-1pm at Macon Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1pm in the Chapel. Rev.'s Randal Phillips, Gary Phillips, Gary Phillips II, and Marty Pressley will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Sherrill, Michael Phillips, David Moore, Marty Pressley, Gary Phillips II, and Parker Phillips.
