Edith Henry Lopes, 77, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Henry and Pearl Dills Henry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. "Bill" Lopes, Sr. who died September 5, 2007 and two brothers, James and Harley. She was a member of Ellijay Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher.
She is survived by two children, Dean Cook and wife Glenda and Brenda Cook both of Franklin; brother, Jack Henry of Franklin; sister, Joyce Tucker of Pine Creek, NC; three granddaughters, Anita Harper, Misty Crisp and Deanna Cook; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Ellijay Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Tucker, Bobby Henry, John Henry, Johnny Dills, Bill Bowman and Robbie Hartsell.
