Dorothy Jean Tallent Roper, 87, of Franklin NC, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Dorothy was born in Macon County to the late Henry and Maude Patterson Tallent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John David Roper and son, Larry Roper. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Assembly of God. She loved to watch Jimmy Swaggart on TV, puzzle books, walking, gardening, and just being outside.

She is survived by her children, Connie Underwood (Harvey), Debbie Roper (Leslie Hughes), John Roper, Randy Roper (Beverly), Kim Roper; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 10-11am on June 23rd, at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God. Service will follow at 11am. Burial will be in the Roper Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Raby and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Joey Nowak, Jordan Nowak, Jacob Roper, William Boyce, Derek Cline, and Cody Newsome.
