Macon Funeral Home
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Dorothy Laurenzo Gamboni, 75, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Mary Andy Laurenzo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lucio Gamboni.
Dorothy moved to Franklin from Miami, FL, in 1984, where she and her husband proudly established Lucio’s Restaurant, becoming a cherished part of the community. She was of the Catholic faith and held a deep love for Jesus. Known for her kind and generous spirit, Dorothy truly had a heart of gold. She was devoted to her two daughters and found her greatest joy in being at home with those she loved.
Dorothy never met a stranger—she loved talking with people and was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Her giving nature and warm personality touched countless lives. She adored her dogs, her “four-legged children,” and lived a life centered around love, compassion, and connection.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Erika Gamboni and Tanya Gamboni; her cherished dogs, Bugsy, Lucy, Rudy, and Jolene; granddog, Henry; and cousin, Aaron Andy.
Dorothy will be remembered as a devoted mother, a compassionate friend, and a woman whose kindness knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 17th, from 12-1pm at Macon Funeral Home. Service will begin at 1pm in the Chapel. Chaplain Donnie Edwards will officiate.
