In Loving Memory of Dennis Keith Scott
October 26, 1961 – October 13, 2026
Dennis Keith Scott, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on October 13, 2026, just shy of his 65th birthday. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Dennis was a man who took great pride in his work, especially Scott’s Moving Company and Supplies and Cutting Edge Tree Service. He worked hard and believed in doing things the right way. However, as much as he valued his work, nothing meant more to Dennis than his family.
Dennis had a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who would show up when someone needed help, never hesitating to lend a hand. He believed in being fair, keeping his word, and doing what he said he would do. If Dennis told you he was going to take care of something, you could consider it done. His word meant something, and his actions spoke louder than words ever could.
He had a way of showing his love through the things he did for others. Whether it was helping someone in need, standing by his family, or simply being someone people could count on, Dennis made a difference in the lives around him. His generosity, loyalty, strong work ethic, and caring heart were just a few of the qualities that made him the man he was.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Scott, and his sister, Debbie Scott.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Tammy Scott; his daughters, April Flowers (Aaron), and Ninna Durm (Chris) stepchildren Joseph Luttrell (Ashley) and Coty Smith (Ethan); and his beloved grandchildren, Kegan Prevette, Payton Prevette, Preston Wright, Kinleigh Flowers, Cole Flowers, Reagan Durm, Nixon Durm, Haisley Durm, Navy Durm Joshua Luttrell,Jordan Luttrell, Jet Luttrell and Jax Luttrell. He also leaves behind his precious great-granddaughter, Lainey Odom, who brought another special generation of love to his family.
Dennis is also survived by his father, Zeb Scott; his sister, Kathy Stamey (Mike); his brothers, Ricky Scott (Regina) and Gary Scott (Jean); along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Though Dennis may no longer be here with us, the love he gave, the promises he kept, the help he offered, and the memories he created will live on through the people whose lives he touched. His legacy is not only in the businesses he built and the work he took pride in, but in the family he loved and the countless ways he showed up for others.
Dennis will be remembered for his heart of gold, his honesty, his dependability, and his unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and a word that could always be trusted.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear for I am with you; I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 17 at 1 pm at Watauga Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas James officiating.
