David LaGene Gibbs, 58, of Franklin, passed away on January 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on July 22, 1966, in Miami, Florida to the late Luther and Beverly Gibbs. He moved to Franklin, North Carolina thirty-five years ago from Florida. He was a truck driver since he started working. He enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with family. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Gibbs is survived by four children, John Gibbs, Autumn Gibbs, Amber Gibbs, and Ashley Gibbs; one grandson, Levi Henry Wood; one brother and four sisters, Sandra Gibbs Medina, Cheryl McGuffin, Cynthia Gibbs, Michael Gibbs (Cynthia), and Victoria Gibbs Watson (Jeremy), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Joey Lowery; two brothers in law, Gus Medina and David McGuffin, and one nephew, Taylor Tyndell.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date later.
