David Andrew Barlow, 60, passed away on October 19, 2023. David was born on February 12, 1963, in Hialeah, Florida.
David proudly served in the United States Navy, where he accumulated a treasure trove of stories from his days at sea. He enjoyed sharing these stories with those around him. After his honorable service, David relocated to Franklin, North Carolina, where he discovered his love of the mountains and never looked back.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Alice J. Mallory. and sister, Sharon Dorsey. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Donna Barlow, and their children: son Michael (wife Danielle) of Tampa, son Chris (girlfriend Jennifer Murphy) of Franklin, and daughter Erin Baldwin (husband Ryan) of Sarasota He is also survived by his father, Bill Barlow (wife). Alice) of Homestead, Florida, brother, Thomas Barlow (wife Marilyn) of Homestead, Florida, and sister Susan McMullen (husband Randy) of Middleburg, FL, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
David leaves behind nine grandchildren: Brooklyn Davis, Louisa Davis, Lydia Davis, Laney Davis, Hudson Davis, Amelia Baldwin, Ronan Baldwin, Presley Baldwin, and Clover Baldwin, who affectionately referred to him as Poppy.
David's zest for life was evident in his appreciation of the simple things, especially spending quality time with his family and friends. He had a passion for amusement parks and enjoyed countless rides with his grandchildren, even if it meant going on the same ride 25 times! As a lifelong mechanic and Ford enthusiast, he often joked, "If it had a motor, he could fix it, and if it had a wheel, he could drive it."
In addition to his family, David found joy through his bible fellowship, Franklin Family Fellowship. He loved giving in various capacities. always eager to help and bless others. One of his favorite verses of scripture is 1 John 4:8: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." He knew God was a loving God, and he wanted to share God's love and less others in all that he did.
David was a wonderful husband, dad, poppy, and friend. His absence will be deeply felt, but his family takes great comfort in all the memories they had with him, knowing that they will see him again.
