James Darnell Shepherd, 54, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014.

Born in Macon County he was the son of the late Jay Dee Shepherd and Helen Jane Diehl Shepherd. Darnell was a member of the Franklin House of Prayer; a member of the 1976 Franklin High School State Champion Football Team and he enjoyed playing the guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Heffner Shepherd; daughter, Ashley Jane Shepherd of Cornelia, GA; sister, Cynseria "Cookie" Jenkins and husband Billy of Cornelia, GA; brother, Charles Stewart of Miami, FL; niece, Adrienne Jenkins of Cornelia, GA; aunt, Alma Brown and husband Montreal of Jonesboro, TN; uncle, Joseph Shepherd of Rockford, IL and many cousins and extended family.

Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the Franklin House of Prayer. Rev. Jim Byrd and Rev. Danny Prince will officiate.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
