George "Dan" Britt, 75, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, in Gainesville, GA.

Dan was born in Roanoke, VA. He was the son of the late Harold Britt and Marie Turner Ritter and stepfather Herman Vasser Ritter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Hiers; and son, Chad Beckwith Britt.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winder, Ga. Dan grew up in Kathleen, FL. He graduated from Florida State University in 1972. Go Noles !! He served our nation during the Vietnam Era in the US Air Force. After marrying in 1973, he and his family traveled back and forth between Florida and Georgia before settling down in Georgia in 2000. He enjoyed cutting firewood, golfing, fishing, working on cars, and working around the house. He especially enjoyed the years he had his Harley and went riding with his friends.

Dan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen Beckwith Britt; son, Christopher Daniel Britt (Stephanie) of Winder, GA, and one grandchild, Tripp Daniel Britt.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 3pm, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mitch Norman will officiate.
