Cynthia Lynn Banks Southard, 69, of Franklin, NC, passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Cynthia was born in Melbourne, Florida to the late A.C. and Mildred Collins Banks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Southard. She retired as a Dietician from Macon Valley. She loved to sew and crochet, making anything from small memorial keepsakes to ornate gowns. Working with others on projects was one of favorite pastimes. Cynthia loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening, playing with her dogs, and most of all cooking for her family.

She is survived by her children, Tony Southard (Emily), David Southard (Christie), Sonya Southard; granddaughter, Emily Southard; sister, Vivian Grkovic; brother, Adrian Banks; sister-in-law, Sherri Ross; several nieces and nephews; her dog, Memphis and grand dog, Finley.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Macon Valley Nursing Home, Appalachian Animal Rescue, or church of your choice.
