Colbert Rodney Henson, 88, of Franklin NC, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Colbert was born in Macon County to the late Grady and Eula Ledford Henson. In addition to being preceded in death by his parents, he was the youngest and last survivor of nine siblings. He was a member, deacon, and trustee at Longview Baptist Church, where he has served on many committees thru the years. He was a personnel manager for Belden for 23 years. Being a family man; he loved his wife and three boys beyond measure. He also loved his church family. His hobbies were fishing, gardening, and he loved old cars and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bonnie Lee Henson; three sons, Dennis Henson (Patricia), Randy Henson, Jamie Henson (Tara); grandchildren, Kristie Henson McGuire (Chris), Johnathan Henson, Pierce Henson, Parker Henson; great grandchildren, Chelsea McGuire, Christopher McGuire, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, June 14th, at 11am at Longview Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends 10-11am, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
