Obituary
Clifton Ervin Keener, 82, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Henry and Mildred Russell Keener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Esteleen Elliott, Laverne Dollarhite, Lois Kelly, Alex Keener, Ernest Keener, Henry J. Keener, and Odell Keener. Clif was an expert brick mason and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outside, walking, and collecting rocks.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey A. Keener (Karen) of Wayland, MI; sister, Janie Maxine Knepp of Franklin, NC; two granddaughters, Heather, and Victoria; and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The funeral service will be at 2pm on Thursday, December 7 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. John Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery on Goldmine.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Mt. Moriah cemetery fund.
