Christine Kell Sorrells, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on November 15, 2025, at Mission Hospital.

Born to the late Donald and Grace Chastain Kell, Christine was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and boundless love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huel Warden Sorrells (2015); her sisters, Katherine Crisp, Shirley Moore, and Janice Kell; her brothers, Elmo Kell and Jerry Kell; and stepmother, Rea McConnell Kell.

Christine is survived by her devoted children: Fredric Wilson Sorrells (Cynde), Phillip Huel Sorrells, and Cynthia Sorrells Cooper (Rodney); her cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Connor Cooper; her loving sisters, Carolyn Keener (Doug) and Marilyn Jenkins; her stepbrothers, Charles and Sam McConnell; and her stepsister, Emma Miller. She is also survived by her dear in-laws, Jerry Sorrells (Kay), Robert Sorrells, and Robin Sorrells, as well as many nieces, nephews, her caretaker Kathy Barnes, and extended family who will miss her deeply.

A member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church, Christine found joy in life's simple pleasures: crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading, gardening, and shopping. She was known for her quick wit, warm heart, and the laughter she brought to those around her. Above all, she was a fun and loving mother and grandmother whose legacy of kindness and humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Visitation will be held at 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Macon Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at Macon Funeral Home on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Rev. Vic Greene will officiate.

Burial will follow the service at Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
