Charlie Jones, age 84, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 with his loving family by his side.

Charlie was born in Franklin to the late Frank Jones and Dorothy Bell Holbrooks Jones. He lived all of his life in Franklin and was a member of Ridge Crest Baptist Church.

Known for his ability to make anyone laugh, people throughout the southeast sought out their weekend entertainment at the Jones Family Auction where Charlie was known for his 'tall tales' and laughable antics.

When he wasn't entertaining at the auction, Charlie could be found at home watching westerns or 'sun-bathing' on his front porch.

He is survived by his three children, Kimberly DeVane (Michael) of Franklin, Charles Todd Jones of Maryville, Tennessee, and Brittany Lynn Jones of Franklin; two step sons, David Mashburn and Preston Mashburn, both of Franklin; and three grandchildren, Justin DeVane, Nathan Jones, and Ally Jones. Last but certainly not least, he is survived by his faithful canine companion, Buddy.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 5, 2024 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
