Charles “Chuckie” Wayne Stanley, 63, of Franklin, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Born and raised in Macon County, he was the son of the late Chester Stanley and Susie Carpenter Stanley. Chuckie spent his entire life working as a logger, a profession he truly loved. The woods were his life, and he found great satisfaction in the work he did throughout the years. He was a member of Maidens Chapel Methodist Church.

When he wasn't working, Chuckie enjoyed camping, mechanic work, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpaw, son, brother, and friend who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Teresa Pendergrass Stanley; his children, Chet Stanley (Heather) and Katie Wiggins (Brad); his cherished grandchildren, Kobe Wiggins, Eli Wiggins, Pender Wiggins, Maelee Wiggins, Brenley Stanley, Casey Stanley, and Sylvie Stanley; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Melissa Browning (Keith); brothers-in-law, David Pendergrass (Marty) and Johnny Pendergrass (Debbie); sisters-in-law, Betty Holland and Sheila Lewis (Tony); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Macon Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Moffitt will officiate. Burial will follow at Gillespie Chapel Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Stanley, Steve Byrd, Scottie Stanley, Greg Conner, Bill Ashe, Stevie Stanley, Robert Hughes, and Mark Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Cope, James Hopkins, Greg Carpenter, and Marion Mathis.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Four Seasons Hospice, especially Mariah Williamson, for the compassionate care and support shown to Chuckie and his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gillespie Chapel Cemetery Fund.

Chuckie’s love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his appreciation for the simple joys of life will be remembered and treasured by all who knew and loved him.
