Cathie Sprinkle, 71, of Franklin, NC went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2025.
She was a native of Macon County and was born on June 21, 1953, to the late Ervin and Bernice Moffitt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Connie Bateman, and a brother, Keith Moffitt.
Cathie was a graduate of Franklin High School and loved the mountains. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and served in many roles. She played the piano at the church for fifty-four years. She also served as the church secretary and taught Sunday School. She loved making crafts and cooking for her family. She was very fond of spending time in her flower garden. In addition to playing piano at church she just loved to play and played at home all the time. She was very family-oriented and really cherished being a grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bill Sprinkle; two sons, Jonathan Sprinkle and Jeremy Sprinkle; two grandsons, Carson Sprinkle and Mack Sprinkle; one Aunt, Anna Lee Shope, and several cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21st from 6-8pm at Macon Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 22nd, at 2pm, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Pastors Eddie Stillwell, Davis Hooper, Terry Moffitt, and Carl Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Shane Johnson, Seth Rowland, Larry Shope, Johnny Sprinkle, Joel Sanders, and Frank Moffitt will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brenda McClure for her dedication as a caregiver.
