Catherine Marie Cabe Keener, 91, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Mrs. Keener was born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Edna Cabe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ross Keener; two brothers, Don Cabe, and Charlie Cabe; sister, Willa Mae Jones and her husband, Paul Jones; and an infant sister, Phyliss Amelia. Catherine was the former owner and operator of Elaine's Hallmark in Franklin, with her husband, and had worked as a beautician prior to that. She was a longtime member of Clarks Chapel Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Keener Riggan (Bob) of Claremont, NC; two sisters, Betty Cole (Tom) of Franklin, NC, and Mary Jo Freeman (James) of Lawrenceville, GA; one grandson, James Dustin Riggan (Angel); one great granddaughter, Sage Lana Riggan; and one soon to be great grandchild, "Baby" Riggan. Mrs. Keener is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Sunday, March 24 at Macon Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 2pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Elder Bob Riggan will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Chapel Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Swift, Joe Giaquinto, Sayre Coffey, Wesley Freeman, David Cabe, Stephen Cabe, Daniel Cabe, and Barry Cabe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Clarks Chapel Methodist Cemetery Fund.
