Nickie Carlos "Shotgun" Jenkins, 71, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, after a period of declining health.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Harley William and Ruby Esther Gregory Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Troy Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins, James Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Ray Jenkins, and Joe Jenkins. "Shotgun" lived most of his life in Macon County, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Deb Jenkins of Franklin, NC; three daughters, Margie Jenkins of Sevierville, TN, Rose Mary Lee Foster of Maryville, TN, and Christa Jenkins of Franklin, NC; one brother, Rick Jenkins of Franklin, NC; and one sister.
Shotgun also has thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews surviving.

In honoring Mr. Jenkins wishes, there are no services planned at this time.
