Carlos Franklin Crisp, 75, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024. A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was born May 10th, 1949, to Frank and Edna Crisp here in Franklin. He was the youngest of five children.
Carlos was a 1967 graduate of Franklin High School and for most of his life, he proudly worked for Winn Dixie and Ingles in the grocery store business, both in North Carolina and Tennessee. He also worked for Whitley Products for many years before they closed. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, camping, ginseng hunting, and for years he could be found in a mountain stream with a creel full of trout. Carlos was well known as a trickster and loved for his sense of humor. Anyone that ever shopped at Holly Springs Plaza Ingles or the Westgate Plaza Ingles and had an interaction with Mr. Crisp left with a smile on their face and sometimes left with a good joke to share with others.
Carlos is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Queen and Tina Higdon, his sister Judith Ann Houston, four grandchildren, Brent Queen, Brianna Landress, Sydney Luzzi, and Heidi Shope and his four great grandchildren, Carlee, Caeden, Christian, and Ethan; and many other family members and friends that loved him dearly. Preceding Carlos in death are his parents, Frank and Edna Crisp and his brothers, Jesse Crisp, Floyd Crisp, and Benny Joe Crisp, all from Franklin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17th from 11am-12pm. at the Macon Funeral Home with the funeral immediately following. The burial will be at the Sugar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, where his mother, father, and siblings are buried.
The pallbearers will be his grandson Brent Queen, grandson-in-law Major Landress, nephews David Crisp and Jimmy Houston, son-in-law Bo Higdon, and lifelong friend Lyman Holland.
