Carl William Obreiter, 63, of Otto, passed away July 6, 2014.

Born in Kalamazoo, MI, he was the son of Joyce Brown Obreiter and the late William Joseph Obreiter. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Joyce Obreiter. Carl was a supervisor for the ACT team at Van Buren County Mental Health. He enjoyed playing the guitar; he played in several bands for 30 years. Carl loved to write and spread joy and enjoyed riding his prized motorcycle.

In addition to his mother, Joyce Brown Obreiter, he is survived by his wife, Dawn Michelle Knittel Obreiter; two daughters, Carly Kissinger and husband Phillip of Hastings, MI and Amy Obreiter of Allegan, MI; step children, Miguel Martinez and wife Holli of Mesa, AZ, Jeremy Martinez of Muskegon, MI and Nicolas Martinez and wife Amanda of Paw Paw, MI; brother, Roy Obreiter and wife Yvonne of Hastings, MI; eight grandchildren, Aryanna Martinez, Lillyanna Martinez, Lucas Pyard, Megan Martinez, Collin Martinez, Maya Martinez, Ethan Martinez and Camree Kissinger.

Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm Friday, July 11, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Miguel Martinez will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, at Macon Funeral Home.
