Obituary
James Carl Blanton, 78, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Born in Swain County, NC, he was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde Blanton and Margie Cochran Blanton; his wife, Janett Gribble Blanton and a sister, Eldridge Blanton Meadows. Carl was a member of Longview Baptist Church; owner of Longview Mobile Home Park and owner of Jan's Produce. His lifelong passion was numismatics.
He is survived by his son, James Richard Blanton (Rhonda); sister, Alecia Passmore of Franklin; grandson, Russell Joel Blanton (Kristi) ; great granddaughter, Natalie Brooke Blanton and a nephew, Michael Meadows and wife Sonya.
Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, July 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Nahlen and Rev. Kevin Chapman will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 372, Franklin, NC 28744.
