Obituary

Bob J. Simons, 83, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Thomas Burton and Lottie Clark Simons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clint Simons, and Dent Simons; and three sisters, Jean Dills Kusterer, Pauline Freeman, and Maxine Arvey. Bob was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed fox hunting, watching ball games and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Darrell Simons of Franklin; a daughter, Connie Simons Dills of Franklin; a brother, Earl Simons of Franklin; and a sister, Ruth Burnette also of Franklin. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Corey Simons, Michael Contino (Lauren), Chad Simons (Erin), Chase Simons (Stephanie), Felicia Proffitt (Blake), and Ashley Mason (Austin); thirteen great grandchildren; a special niece, Rhonda Freeman; a dear friend, Doris Ledbetter; a brother in-law, Dennis Arvey; and numerous other family members that he loved.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, March 9 at Liberty Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2pm on Saturday, March 9, following the visitation at the church. Rev. Andy Cloer and Rev. Davis Hooper will officiate.
