Kenneth "Bo" Travis Cunningham, 42, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus after facing a long courageous battle on Friday, August 4, 2023.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of Jo Cloer Zachary and the late Kenneth "Kenny" Howard Cunningham. Bo was very good at shooting pool; he had even won a trip to Las Vegas to compete. He was a member of the APA league. He even received MVP numerous times. His pool playing buddies were his extended family. Bo always had a quick sweet smile, even when he was suffering. His heart stayed strong and was filled with love to his last breath.
Bo was a member at Liberty Baptist Church. He asked Jesus to be his savior when he was only seven years old. Even through all his sickness, he knew he would fly with the angels and join his daddy, mamaw, and papaw, who he loved so much. But most of all, Bo knew he would finally get to see Jesus and his heavenly home that was built for him.
Bo is survived by his fiancé, Christie Manley; mother and stepfather, Jo C. Zachary, and Tubby of Franklin; children, Tyler Cunningham of Franklin, and Gracee Cunningham of Hayesville; stepchildren, Blake Caton, and Faith Caton of South Carolina; sister, Tami Cody (Bryan) of Franklin; stepsister, Callee Bowman of Franklin; and Courtney Nicole Coggins Cunningham of Cullowhee. Also surviving are his nephews, Timothy Stevens (Brison) of Asheville, Tucker Bowman of Franklin, Curtis Bowman of Franklin, Braden Cody of Franklin, and Cameron Cody of Franklin; and nieces, Cassie McMahan (Bre) of Franklin, and Elly Bowman of Franklin; along with numerous other friends and family.
A celebration of life will be at 5pm on Monday, August 7, 2023, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Jarnigan, Rev. Keith Ashe, Rev. David Hastings, and Brenda Wooten will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy McCoy, Tucker Bowman, Ian Neil, Braden Cody, Cameron Cody, Rodney Chastain, David McCoy, and Chris Houston.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 5pm, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice House Foundation of WNC, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
Bo Cunningham will always be remembered as a simple man, who remained faithful throughout all his sickness. He knew he could not be cured, but he lived making the most of each day. He fought to live and was such an inspiration to all who knew him. He was so grateful for the love and prayers through all these difficult times. He made it through because of the prayers, love and caring that was shared with him.
