Obituary
Beverley Shoemaker, 93, formerly of Franklin, NC passed away on July 18, 2024.
She was born on September 1, 1930, in Berkeley, CA to the late Frank and Ruth Montandon. She attended UC Berkley, Columbus State University, and completed her Doctorate degree at Auburn University. She taught in the public school system for twenty-three years before retiring. She was well known in the arts and quilting world. She enjoyed taking pictures of landscapes and painting them.
She is survived by five children, Russell Shoemaker, Curtis Shoemaker, Walter Shoemaker, Sally Shoemaker and Frank Shoemaker; and numerous grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Shoemaker.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, prior to the service.
