Barb was a lifelong learner. She attended Indiana University as an undergraduate and later earned her master's degree, which paved the way for her success in public health communications at CDC. Although, anyone that had the privilege of knowing her would say she had a PhD in sarcasm.
Barb had many talents and hobbies. From being an accomplished musician having played the french horn with the legendary jazz trumpeter Doc Severinson in her youth to becoming a 4-H leader and Master Gardener, with a love of all furry animals, her gifts were many. Most importantly, she loved her family and friends fiercely, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, strength, and a wicked sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Barb asked that we remember the Wounded Warrior Project and the ASPCA.
