Ballard Snipes, 92, of Franklin passed away on February 18, 2025. He was born on November 27, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Willie and Vinie Snipes.

Mr. Snipes retired from the Parks department after 30 years in Mansfield, Ohio. He then worked for the New Smyrna school board in Florida. After 15 years he retired to Franklin, NC where he spent the last 25 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and building things. He also used to play gospel music.

He is survived by his son, Clayton Snipes (Susan), and several grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Snipes, and several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Franklin, NC. Pastor John Hartley will officiate.
