Ashley Marie
Vasallo
June 30, 1999 – April 18, 2026
Macon Funeral Home
4:00 - 6:00 pm (Eastern time)
The Lord took ASHLEY and her unborn baby girl, whom she had already named Evelyn Jane, from us to her Eternal Home suddenly at the young age of 26 on April 18,2026, leaving a giant, painfully empty space in the hearts of her family and friends. Ashley loved intensely and lived fiercely! She was loved by everyone who met her, even briefly! Her smile and presence would immediately flood a room with light! Yet, Ashley “fought battles that some of us will never know with strength, courage, and determination. The battle that meant the most and hurt her the most was not being allowed to raise her son. That battle was breaking her heart and may have contributed to her early departure from our lives.
Ashley was fun to be with, a playful tease, the life of the party! Her many friends all expressed that life without her was unthinkable. Ashley loved caring for and playing with children: her son, her friends’ children, and all children. And the children were drawn to her and loved her like crazy! Ashley also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and doing theatrical makeup, but her passion was her family, and most especially her little boy, Malakai - to be with him, to play with him, to care for him, and to love him with all the intensity of her heart was truly what Ashley lived for.
Ashley Marie Vasallo was the 3rd of four children born in Miami, Florida to Jennifer and Esteban Vasallo on June 30,1999. Her red hair, (evident at birth), beautiful blue eyes, and feisty personality were clues of things to come. At the age of 2 she calmly held a parrot on her arm and helped to feed a baby raccoon, and when she was older she had a pet hedgehog.
Sadly, Ashley also suffered many difficulties in her short life; her parents’ troubled relationship and eventual divorce, a severe, life-threatening case of meningitis at the age of 9, abusive relationships with several men, especially the father of her son; all of which created an agony which was often too much to bear and which she had to find ways to bury in order to keep going on.
Ashley is survived by her son, Malakai Xavier; her Mother, Jennifer Marie Lyons; her older brother, Steven; older sister, Jessica and her son, Jaxon; younger brother, Christian and his daughter, Bryleigh; and her father, Esteban Vasallo. She is also survived by her grandmother, Rosa Corteguera and her husband Armando Puente; and grandparents William & Charlotte Lyons.
Ashley’s family is devastated by her loss, yet they know that she trusted in Jesus as her Savior and that He has ended her suffering. The family will have a visitation on Friday, April 24th from 4-6 pm at Macon Funeral Home. Later they will gather together at Parker Meadows Complex for a Celebration of Life for Ashley!
