Arbutus Young Cochran, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John Young and Lula Ridley Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Cochran who died in 1998;a son, Bruce Warren Cochran who died in 2000, great granddaughter, Kyrsten Cunningham and a brother, John Young, Jr. She was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Arbutus enjoyed flowers and gardening but her family was most important.

She is survived by four children, Judy Cunningham, Eunice Browning and Sheila Jenkins all of Franklin and Brent Cochran of Clyde, NC;11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two sisters, Margaret Hyatt and Evelyn Franks both of Sylva.

Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers and Great Grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
